Where, in an instant, I beheld uprisen
At once three hellish furies stain’d with blood.
In limb and motion feminine they seem’d;

Louis Raemaekers was a Dutch painter and editorial cartoonist. He took a strong anti-German stance during WWI. This is one of his cartoons depicting the Dance of Death from the beginning of the war.
